I know organic food is free from pesticides, herbicides, and unnatural fertilizers, but what about all the pollution it gets when it rains? Is anything grown outside truly organic?

I don't know about here in Asia but Organics as it started out was deemed to be food grown in a responsible sustainable way without using chemical fertilizers and pesticides that poison the earth in which the crops are grown. The stuff in the rain I think the plants can filter out themselves.
Has anyone actually considered that the carbon footprint of the "Organic" products that reach our fair shores are actually higher than the NON Organics that we purchase from Malaysia and China?
